Suite for viola and harp

Henry Haffner, viola
Elaine Cook, harp
This attractive, lyrical work makes more demands upon the harpist, perhaps, than the violist. It was written over the Christmas break in 1961 and first performed in Milwaukee as part of the 1962 Spring tour of the Michigan State Singers, whose director, Richard Klausli, used instrumentalists during intervals of its choir concerts. Karen Murphy was the harpist.
