Scored for solo violin, women's voices, and organ, this work is quieter and more tender, as befits the subject, than "Bless the Lord, O My Soul." The solo violin part, though not extremely difficult, does require a degree of professional-level ability. The anthem was first performed in the spring of 1981 at St. Michael's Church (Lexington, KY) with the composer as soloist and his wife, Melissa, conducting.
